If all these makes are for hayfever, why has some makes got different ingredients in them, and what is each ingredient for, as I am not sure if I am taking the right ones.

It's just a case of finding the one that works for you with the least (or no) side effects.

For example, Cetirizene gives me a terrible sore throat and dry mouth if I take them, so I buy Loratadine tablets instead.

I just got 6 packs of Loratidine, cost £13.74 in total (inc. £3 P&P) but that's fab and alot cheaper than prescription - even with pre-pay! :T

I've got more than I will need for the remainder of this summer but the expiry date is Sep 2009 so definitely a bargain!

This is the first time I have been on any forum I felt compelled to try to help other people with hay fever, my son as had hay fever since he was quite young and he is now 32 and has started keeping bees he told me recently he had read an article that if you ate honey from local area you live in (Which of course comes from local pollen) it helps with hay fever, he has tried this this year and he has not had hay fever any where near as bad as past years, hope this helps other people suffering with this.

Don't buy the medinose because its over £50 although I believe it works. You can currently get the same thing from Lloyds Pharmacy on a trial offer of £14.99, called an allergy reliever. I have been a severe hayfever sufferer since the age of 7. I've been using this machine since saturday and for the first time ever I've stopped taking anti-histamines.

You can also get £1.50 off this price with a voucher available on the Lloyds Pharmacy website. The allergy reliever will be going back up to £50+ in September.

Chemist4U are now doing cetirizine at 99p per pack although you have to buy minimum of 6 packs. So including postage that 180 tablets for £8.69.
postage is 2.75 for 2nd class postage.

You're right about the Lloyds Pharmacy allergy reliever. Bought hubby one for £14.99 2 months ago & he's off all allergy tablets for the first time ever.

Works in exactly the same way as Medinose for a fraction of the price.
Good on Lloyds Pharmacy!

Chemist4u.com currently have for £39.95 as medinose with this guarantee, its a tough decision on whether to waste the £15 at Lloyds or have a money back offer.

Not so tough....I don't think a 30 day guarantee is very much and nearly 3 months later the Lloyd's allergy reliever is still working for me. Cost so far, £13.49 plus 72p for a new battery. I don't think I could add up all the savings in tissues, nose sprays, eye drops let alone the amazing feeling of breathing clearly in the summer after over 30 years of suffering.

If it breaks and I have to buy a new one every year, I really wouldn't care, I'd gladly pay £50 per year. Anti-histamines have never worked fully I've always had some kind of symptom and on top of that side effects. I won't be going back to them again.
