Hi all.
Does anyone have any hints or tips for brushing up my maths skills.
I have looked up learn direct but sadly the nearest centre is just too far away for me to get to.
I'm hoping to start an access course in september, which will involve studying an element of maths.
Thanks for reading.

Hi Not sure if this is the kind of thing you are looking for, so if not apologies, but my sons school recommended IXL (search google/online). It's a maths website which covers a huge range of ages/years Each day you can do 20 questions FOC or you can join for a monthly fee. May be useful in pitching where you are or are looking to be
You can search on Year X (school year) and then drill down on the subject matter. My son is young but they do cover many levels and subjects0 -
How advanced are we talking? The BBC has lots of online revision guides and self-tests aimed at school students but covering the kind of material you might need.
Hope the access course goes well - good luck, and good on you for taking this step!0 -
The level of maths I encountered doing the access course was at about a 10 year olds level.. if not lower. basic adding up and subtraction nothing too taxing.
I wouldn't worry, they do an assessment of your numeracy and literacy when you enrol and offer support/maths classes or gcse if needed.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

BBC bitesize website is very good - has examples and then questions. Topics all listed so you can miss out the bits you won't need.0
