Asus Laptop Issues... (essay content!)

Hello,

We bought our Asus G73SW Notebook on 17/05/2011 from 'simplyasus' on the recommendation of my other halfs brother.

Once we received it, her brother had issues with his that dragged on for about 6 months.

All was fine with ours until about November 2012 when we got various niggling faults with the laptop. It came with a 24 month Warranty so I felt fine about it. I contacted simplyasus who gave me the option of sorting it through them and it taking approx. 30 days or through Asus directly where it would take no more than 7 days. I stupidly chose to go direct...

They collected it on 17/12/2012 and they received it back 19/12/2012. They told us we'd have it back before Christmas. We received no contact from them but allowed the Christmas and New Year times to pass before getting on to them.

Once we contacted them it became apparant that it wouldn't be repaired and we were going to lose the laptop. They informed us that they had 30 days (up to the 19th Jan 2013) to fix it and would be in touch. 19th arrived, no contact from them so I phoned only to be told it had to be given to a referral team who would make an alternative offer???

We are now at 28/01/2013, still no laptop, no contact, I've contacted them several times only to be told the 'Swaps' team cannot be contacted, 'they only ring out'.

I'm at the point now where I need the laptop for work and college and I just want my money back so I can buy a replacement. It is getting desperate and today I got a voicemail so got a little excited. It was a woman I had already spoken to by email but today she called my number, only to be leaving a message for somebody completely different with a very different serial number.

I'm fed up and just need any advice anyone can offer. Sorry again for the stupidly long post!

Thanks!
