I have paid my credit card off twice

I have a HSBC current account and a credit card.

The card is fairly new and I have been paying it off manually as I control it fairly well and like to manage what I keep on there as debt.

Well recently I paid about £800 off it.

I just logged on and saw that full repayment must have been turned on as about £1000 has been paid on to it (paying it off entirely), which means:

My current account is now minus £900.
My credit card is actually PLUS £300 or similar

Do you know if there's an easy way of reversing this? I can't call HSBC due to the time and I'm a bit anxious about it.

Thanks

HSBC should be able to refund the £300....they'll send you a cheque.

You could argue with the bank that you've made a mistake....however they don't have to do it if they don't want to....

    Thanks guys.

I'm sure it will be fine based on what you say. My HSBC account has been my main one for 12 years and I use it for all my main stuff.

No. They are extremely unlikely to be willing to send a cheque.

Lets just say we would never send a cheque. Always payment back to the source.
Money laundering and all that jazz.

Think you will soon see cheque's for overpayment stopped.
