My daughter of 10 suffers, in the heat she always has prickly heat, so try to find a sun tan lotion that helps.
Now even in the winter she comes up with a rash that looks similar on her thighs and behind her knees. It itches a bit.
I try to put things like E45 on her , or just today a cream that helps with allergy relief, insect bites etc just a general anti histermine cream to take the bumpyness away.
If she gets dry skin on her face I tried something like clinique mosisturiser etc
Everything seems to make her skin feel like its burning and she has o quickly wash it off.
Im going to take her to the doctors I think as shes fine but keeps having bumpy rashes.
Any suggestions on a cream that would give some relief I could try?
I just cant find a cream that her skin seems to accept.

Avent magic cream, is really gentle but is for rashes. Use it on my two when they get dry skin x it s for babies but I swear by it, always have a tube of it around. In the summer it stops the rash that the boys get from their board shorts rubbing
Choccymoose'we don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing'0 -
I get a similar thing when my dermatitus flares up. I use Calendula cream (Marigold extract, either from the Health Food shops, or Boots). It does sting when you first use it, but it settles down very quickly.
If I need something and can't get that, the only other thing I can use is plain Vaseline.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
I second the Avent cream, although it is now called Avent Bottom Balm or something.0

Simple moisturisers, or the Boots sensitive range, are very mild. Bio oil is very soothing and nourishing for bad outbreaks.
The aqueous cream the doctor used to prescribe for my daughter was very heavy on her skin, imho, and seemed to increase swelling (by trapping in the heat????).
Unfortunately, sometimes it's a question, especially as they get into their teens, of gritting your teeth and working your way through the brands until you find one that works with their skin...import this0 -
Thanks all
I just felt so bad that everything kept burning her.
I have given her some anti histermin medicine now.
She doesnt want to do her swimming gala tomorrow now as her thighs are bumpy.
I got use to it in the summer but now having it in the winter as well!
I found the avent cream under its new name so will try all the new suggestions.0 -
Have you tried La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5? Its in boots and is a moisturiser that I have been having a lot of success with recently on my sensitive skin. No fragrance etc. and hasn't made my skin redden or tighten yet. Another lovely moisturiser I've found is Cetaphil- you can get that in boots now as well. Hope you find something to help.0

Have you tried an antihistamine cream on the area?
I can't use E45 either, my doctor recommended oilatum which is brilliant but expensive - see if you can get a tube on prescription to try it out.
I've had to go "soap free" as it dries my skin so much, why not give this a shot and see if it helps?0 -
I find Oilatum helpful too. Your daughter might be able to get it on prescription.
I know it sounds barmy but when my skin is having a flareup I stick to just plain light olive oil or grapeseed oil. I prefer grapeseed because it has no smell.
My legs just soak it up like a sponge. With my face I leave it for about 10 minutes and then mop up any excess with a tissue.
Veg oils are completely natural with nothing to irritate.
I'm currently trying to avoid SLS Sodium Laurel Sulphate in all products because I read somewhere they can really aggravate dry sensitive skin.
I have been experimenting with Pears bath products, they do soap, hand-wash and shower-gel. They do seem very gentle.0 -
Pure aloe vera gel is the best, make sure it is certified though, or even better grow plants yourself and pull leaves off to use.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0

Have a look at the Green People website. They do a children's scent free cream, or they do a Scent Free range of products.......they are really helpful, you could always email or ring for advice before you buy. Their products are excellent.
I hope you can find something that suits and your daughter's skin gets better soon xx0
