best way to use this equipment

Options
I'm currently a stone over weight, and my current size 12 clothes are getting tight, so i know i need to do something, i'm away in 5 weeks and would love to get maybe 10lbs off and tone up.

Tomorrow is the start of my healthy eating and cutting out the processed food, coffee, and wine that i drink, i plan on porrige for breakfast, with a drink of hot water with lemon, dinner, as i'm out at work and on the go, thinking of taking a salad with me. Tea would be salad, or veggies with healthy meats. I'd drink plenty of water i do like to drink lots of water.

Sometimes i don't feel like food for breakfast, so i will make a slim fast vanilla shake and have that.

I don't want to join a gym i've done that before and i don't like it.

I plan on doing a lot more walking and maybe trying to add some running in on it.

but we have these things left in our house from different family members, i've never used them but was thinking of starting now.

excercise bike
lateral thigh trainer
trampoline
a round thing you stand on and twist on
skipping rope
30 day shred dvd

i was thinking of using one of these each day in a bid to tone up. And also try and go swimming twice a week.

But i don't know how to use this small trampoline any ideas anyone.
And what would be the best way to use all of the above all at intervals weekly or daily..

thank you

Whatever plan you adopt should be sufficient, so long as you stay CONSISTENT...
Its the number one reason why most of us fail.
  • Just do 30 Day Shred and see how that goes for now. It's a pretty good program. You'll need some hand weights though.

The small trampoline should be run on - high knees too. Less pressure on the knees apparently, but I never used mine!

The usual wisdom is that low intensity exercise and weights are the way to go for burning fat (cardio burns mainly carbs for about the first 2 hours) so from that point of view, I'd go for the 30 day shred video.

If you want to use the equipment you've got, I'd set up some circuits where you spend maybe 2 minutes working as hard as you can on each item then move on after a 30 sec or 1 minute rest. Maybe throw in a 2 minute session on bodyweight exercises too e.g. 2 minutes doing as many burpees as you can.

If you're going to start adding in running and you're completely new to it, I found the free Couch to 5k programme very good and excellent for keeping me motivated. It'll have you running 5k in 2 months if you stick with it even if you can only jog for 1 minute at the moment.

Swimming's good stuff but I always find it makes me hungry :)

A small but effective piece of equipment = a kettlebell.

You can get a thorough work out, tone and lose weight really quickly.

I also take Sea Kelp to help control my weight.

    Best wishes.
  • I've had some pretty spectacular results from doing the shred dvd, my weight loss hasnt been high but my body shape and most importantly muscle strength has changed greatly.

The best exercise dvd ive ever done, very unlike other 'celebrity' workouts.

thank you for those replies, i've sorted out a healthy eating plan, and i'm going to start to walk more.

Not been able to do anything as i'm still sore with this plurasy, and i'll have to be careful at 1st when i do start some exercise.

Aldi have kettle bells on sale soon, not sure of the price but i'm off to have a google at them on you tube.

    thanks again x
