Returning V5

Hi all,
Bought a car a couple of weeks ago, filled in V5 and sent off etc.
Car had issues and was rejected. All sorted there.
The V5 has just turned up though. Should I just fill in the section saying i sold it back to the dealer?

or give them a quick ring to check how best to proceed you're not selling it back to the dealer as such by returning it perhaps even send it back with a short note explaining that you rejected the car and returned it?
