    Yes just tried the whole process from scratch again. Put my gross salary £19333 in where asked, I even tried putting my out goings as zero but it still comes up as " total outgoings exceeding total income".
    Will give up doing it online and go in to a branch tomorrow. Was interested really to see if this was a common problem or just me.

    Applied online today and their system didn't like "£", "," or "." characters.
    Entered whole numbers only and all went through ok.

    Perhaps, but your the one whom berated me for posting a comment on a Halifax post that was a few months old because someone else had.
