How much spending money? All inc Sharm

Hello,

just book a weeks all inc at the Sharks Bay Hilton with Thomas Cook on the 10th March. We are literally going to chill out, laze around and slothe. We don't really plan to leave the resort. Save maybe a quick look around a market if there's on there.
Will be taking a card for emergencies. How much spends shall I take? I've read to take sterling and only change it when I'm there? Is that right?

p.s. anyone know the etiquette on tipping? I've read to tip at start of holiday, not to tip, tip at end (like I would normally)
I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.

Good question , I was so 'confused' at the start of my Ai , I actually went to reception to ask! Order a drink , and walk away without paying , strange.

Most of the better Ai , have little boxes on the bar ...... tip boxs .
But remember during the day walking around in a swim suit , just don't carry any money . But if and only if you had good service , place a few coins in the box in the evening.
Those that suggest you get better service by tipping large on the first day are sadly mistaken , you get the better service by being courteous and friendly.

The 'bar' service will be very fast , no messing about with money.
The story I like to post .
I was lying next to the pool , reading . When the waiter turned up with a cold beer . I said , mistake ,thanks but I hadn't ordered one.
Reply was , No , the bar man had noticed I was occupied and was probably due for a drink!!..........that got a tip.
