Always ask your buyer if they have checked their sorting office first as many times the postie doesn't put a card through the door. Or possibly get them to check that it's not hidden in their garden somewhere. As long as you keep your reciept from the po you can claim for the loss from rm.0

I have been lucky, sold over 1000 items on ebay over the years, plus about 100 on Amazon, never had one go missing.0

I asked my buyer to check sorting office and Royal Mail were not delivering any parcels that week due to weather (it wasn't even a parcel, it was a large padded envelope).
Anyway Royal Mail eventually delivered it yesterday even though I posted First Class on 21st January.
I have completely lost faith in Royal Mail.My daughters are my world0 -

Just think you have been a bit unlucky and weather has not helped in some areas.
I'm quite quick to defend royal mail.
I posted an item from just outside Edinburgh at the post office after 5pm yesterday. Buyer has been in touch from South Shields at 11am this morning to thank me for quick delivery.
so thats 18 hours between leaving me and arriving with the buyer. not bad in my opinion!if i had known then what i know now0 -

Ive seen some of the packaging used by some ebays in the PO - and i would be very surprised if they made it.
Extra clear parcel tape can protect the packet and also always print the address. Any loose ends can get caught / tangled up.
I also check postcodes given before posting.0 -

I am not sure where they all go, they must go somewhere, they can't just disappear?

Have you checked eRedelivery? You wont have the card number but you have the name and address and you can see if there is something waiting for them from a given date, (might have to go through each day)
Although this could be any package - it did prompt my buyer to go and pick the item up who told me they had already checked and was just being lazy.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. RM lost my phone that I had sent off - I say 'lost' it was special delivery and never got to its intended destination - so 'lost' within RM.
So, after leaving it a month as they requested I put in a claim, sent off all the details, special delivery receipt covering the cost of the phone and associated proof of value.
Guess what, Royal Mail lose my claim info.....
I have a copy luckily of the receipt and covering letter I sent but not the proof of value.
So as such theyre taking no notice and I am out of pocket by £250
Thanks Royal Mail!0
