E&L bad payers ?

Hi been with E&l pet insurance for 2 and half years now , about 8 months ago our dog had problems that need a vet so we made a claim with E&L and tey agreed to pay it , 8 mohths later and after several phone calls we still dont have the cheque for the amount the owe us .

Anyone else have problems with E&L or am i just unlucky ?

Is there anyway i can apply pressure to make them pay out ?

I know they are awful on their caravan policies - no reason the pet ones aren't the same I would think.

    sorry.

I have had two dogs insured with them. Really slow in processing claims and sending out cheques. Had to email and phone them numerous times to settle claims. Have just got another puppy and will not be insuring her with them.
    Waddle you do eh?

    I've been Money Tipped!
I put in a claim with them in April and am still waiting for a settlement. If you have a look at https://www.reviewcentre.com you can read the reviews etc and there are some handy hints on how to deal with them. Lets just say I shall be looking elsewhere at renewal time!!

Took me 4 months to settle a claim, i sent them a letter in the end saying that if they don't pay up in nte next 7 days i'd cancel both my policies. The cheque got processed. I still cancelled my policies and told them their payout system is too slow, they offered 10% off the policies for the trouble. I now put aside £20 / month in a savings account instead.

I hate E&L :-\ I've seen so many people screwed over by them.

Buying cheap insurance because it's got limited cover etc is one thing, that's a personal choice, as long as you know what you are buying. But an insurance policy with a company that doesn't pay out is just a waste of money, and of course most people don't find that out until the time when they really need the insurance.

Get on to the Financial Ombudsman and see if they will give them a kick up the backside. If everyone E&L messed round did that, the FO might just do something about them.
