Do I have to pay for a part to be fitted the second time round?

I had some work done on my boiler in spring of 2012 - around May time - as I was having issues with the heating and water.
I began to have the same issues so contacted the same plumbing firm, someone came out, poked around and what not for half and hour and came to the conclusion that the same part had 'gone'.
I imagine I would be covered by some kind of parts guarantee for the part itself, but what about the work (time) that the plumbers will need to do to replace the same part again...
It would irritate me to have to pay them again to fit exactly the same part, but I guess it's not their fault it broke again, it's the manufacturer's part that's failing so theoretcially in my eyes they should pay but I doubt that happens.
As I've not been in this situation before, what would happen? Would the work be done for free and the plumbers and recoup cost of manufactures and I have to pay again?

What warranty did they provide with the previous repair ? I would expect them to replace the part FOC within 1 year. They can take it up with whoever supplied the part to them.0
