I guess he's seen a statement of fact.
In what circumstances could the class be relevant, out of interest?
The OP does not seem to know the full situation, it could be a policy voided on say a Home Insurance and the policy he is talking about being a Landlord policy issued in a Limited Company name. Alternatively as above but the landlord policy asks the relevant question about similar policies.
It's a long shot but worth gathering the full information.
Surprised a broker would not declare the voidance as apart from being very bad practice it could cost the broker a lot of money in the event of a claim. I've had cases where the proposal form does not declare the voidance as it's not possible to transact the business but it's been declared by a phone call and a follow up letter.0 -
Fair enough. It'd be a poor show if the insurer didn't ask about Director history in that case, but their loss.
Good point about the ad-hoc declaration too.0 -

Not always, the OP mentions the property is part commercial, if he does have a separate Limited Company (I doubt it) the proposals often ask the questions in relation to the company rather than the directors personally.
It's a long shot, I would not be surprised if the broker has declared it separately, the broker and client are asking for trouble otherwise0
