wired smoke alarm system

Hello,

I have been quoted £800 (including both labour and materials) to install a wired interlinked smoke alarm system -- one heat alarm in the kitchen, and smoke alarms in each of the living room, upper and lower hallways and three bedrooms (i.e. seven alarms in total). It is a compact ex-council maisonette. Wires will be in trunking in most places.

Does this seem a fair quote? This is in London by the way, so might be a bit more expensive than some places.

Thank you for your helpful reply. So that would mean you'd have quoted for the whole system of seven alarms for £385 all in? That's a lot less than I've been quoted! I received a second quote for comparison which was £1100 (!) so unless I get a better offer I might have to go for the £800 one.... you should move down to London!

Several people have said this before, but the additional costs (food lodging etc) outweigh the extra money to be made
