If this new company have sent a notice of assignment, then they will now be owed the debt. Otherwise, they will just be collecting on behalf of RBS (the letters will probably refer to RBS as the creditor or client).
Either way, this won't affect your claim against RBS.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW Nerd #4910 -
I would guess that you are now dealing with the new company only, but you could always ring RBS just to confirm.
As mentioned above, this should have no effect on your bank charge reclaim whichever way it goes, but if you want any further advice or confirmation on this, then head over to the bank charge reclaim board on this site where you will find a thread specifically for Royal Bank of Scotland. Everyone there is at some stage with RBS so someone is bound to know the answer!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. But as my credit card is with them in the first place , and if I am awarded my refund , can they not just take it before i get it ?
Say we are awarding you X amount but we'll have that for youtr cc debt ?0 -
Not if it has been handed over to a DCA, as far as I am aware.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

I dont really want to be ringiing the bank as i dont want to be putting them ideas into there heads , Im just really needed that payout to pay all my little bitty debts off and I'll be pretty much screwed if they take it all off me
I tried the RBS thread and noone rplied to me other than to say It would be a good idea for me to pay my CC debt off . Well ........... YEAH i know0 -
If you ring the bank you need not mention the bank charges at all. Just ask if they have passed your account onto this other company, just so that you know who you are dealing with.
Although I see you want to use the bank charges for bits and pieces, would it be the end of the world if it did pay against this credit card?
If it helps you could post an SOA and we could see if the DFW community can help sort things out so that things become less of a problem?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Have you already sent the letter requesting your charges be refunded? If not, why not specify that the refund should be in cheque form? That way, you can do what you like with it and don't need to worry about RBS offsetting it against your CC balance.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW Nerd #4910

Ok Well the bank charges are for my switch account which i still use
I cut my credit card up a year ago and havent used it for ages so Its two different accounts .Would this make a difference ?????????
I was told yesterday I will have a decision by may 14th
My debts are completely out of control and I have CCJs and Default notices everywhere
And since my fella left last year leaving me a single parent which £6500 worth of debt ( I know it doesnt seem alot but believe me it is when you only work part time )0 -
Why not speak to CCCS or Payplan or National Debtline? They can help get everything sorted so that you feel more in control of things, and at the same time allow you to get on with life.
They are charitable organisations and don't judge or hassle, or push you into anything. They are worth speaking to, even if you never do anything more with them. Their numbers are at the top of the board here.
Sorry, can't answer the question about the 2 credit cards. I would give the bank a call to see what is what, but if the charges relate to your current account and not your credit card, then they wouldn't use them to pay it off anyway.
Good luck and keep posting.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

What am i supposed to do when i dont have the money
If i didnt work I would be better off .Id get all my rent council tax and yadda yadda paid for me
But what kind of life would that be me and my little girl
I hate the fact i got myself Into this debt but i cant change it !
I have buried my head in the sand for so long now i feel like im drowning0
