I need to get some new black ink for my printer, now it came supplied with a HP336 & HP342 cartridge. These are costing me a fortune as they're only small quanities of ink, 5ml!.

I've since logged onto the HP website and they're saying that I should be using "338 (11ml) and 343" cartridges  Can anyone explain if there is a difference apart from the size ? Would I be better off buying the ones that HP suggest on their website, but from a cheaper source? (My partner insists on only using "proper" branded ones  )

Sorry that sounds like a dumb question but I've always bought the ones that come supplied with the printer as replacements if that makes sense. Last thing I want to do is spend money on cartridges that won't work in my printer!

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
