My father received a letter on 6th April to inform him that he was being awarded IB from 15th March. The letter also states that it will be paid 2 weekly in arrears by direct payment to his bank account and that they will write to him when the first payment is credited.
To date, no payment has been received. What's the usual timescale for them to start making the payments?
There is a telephone number on the letter but when I ring it, it's a recorded message saying that dur to circumstances beyond their control, they can;t take calls and please try later.

If you were trying to ring them today then you need to be aware that many civil servants, which includes dwp staff, were on strike today.
I would have expected his IB to have started by now, I don't remember having any delay when mine started. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks Cattie, I've tried ringing numerous times today - I wasn't aware they were on strike! I'll try again tomorrow.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0
