Double glazed door - handle problem

Just this morning I am having problems with my door handle, it appears when i pull the handle down the locking mechanism does not come down.
This issue only exists in the inner side of the house as when i push the handle down from the outside of the house the locking mechanism comes fully down (the hooks and stuff)
Anyone know whats the best way to fix this? I'm guessing this may be the only issue as i've just noticed this when I am playing with the handle.
I am unsure if the cold weather has caused this issue or this is coincidence.
Thanks

When did you last oil the mechanism? Twice a year is the usual recommended. Dont force it!0

I've tried WD40 on the locking mechanism, guessing I will need to open the handle and spray WD40 in there? Or is there another issue?0

Impossible to tell if there are other issues without looking, anyway I am a DIYer, not a locksmith, but if you can open it it and wd 40 it it will not hurt.0

a lesson learnt then because to me it sounds like the spindle has gone in the lock .Bq sell silicon spray 3in1 spray is also good sprays are better they leave a fine layer on instead of over oilingif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0 -
The spindle between the two handles has moved. The spindle is kept in place with two grub screws on the handles, one each side.
Remove the two handles and normally there is a circlip on the spindle which sits against the lock case, replace the handle on this side of the door making sure the circlip is tight against the lock case and tighten the grub screw replace other handle.

Tried the 3 in 1 Oil Spray and 3 in 1 Silicon Spray and haven't been successful with either. But learnt my lesson and will use these on the other doors to ensure I don't get the same problem.
Here's some pics.
Picture of handle inside house - pushed up (does not come down when handle is pushed down.)
Picture of handle outside house - pushed up (This does come down when pushed down from the outside)
I opened the handle and it appears there was a crack inside as you will see there is a piece missing at the top as its not fully circullar. So most likely the cause.

Going to end up buying a new handle. Thanks for your input.0
