Norton 360 Gold Edition

Hi have had Norton 360 Gold edition since November brought with new winds 8 laptop, have nothing but trouble with it have to reinstall it 3 times with Norton uninstall tool though last time even that came up with an error and had to do something else, it's when I try to scan, it's installs ok then a week or so later when you try to scan it won't do it, like today it does the updates and tune up but misses out the full scan, won't even open to let me do a quick scan. I am really fed up with this am I doing something wrong cause it looks like I may have to reinstalli t again!:mad: Did run malware last week and that was fine, if anyone can help. I always say no to the back up when the box pops up before scan if that means anything?

Norton used to be a good antivirus / firewall system but a few years ago it all went south, with foreign call centres, unreliable software etc. Don't' allow any call centre techs to remote connect to your PC as they will screw it up. I watched years ago as one clicked on "disable all services" under the services.msc and then rebooted - only to find nothing would work. Took me ages to get it sorted. They are clueless beyond belief.

I can't really help other than to say uninstall it and use something else, maybe a fee one like Avast or AVG. I use BitDefender which works for me and is cheaper than Norton.

When I go onto their site there I a tool to download to uninstall then reinstall Norton, this has worked but am fed of having to do it every few weeks......:mad:

It's actually scanning now! was looking how to complain on their site clicked on support and it said it was fixing 2 problems, to restart and now it's scanning!

It would seem to be an ongoing problem, I have it with NIS.
The workaround is, when it wont scan, to sign out of windows and sign in again. It should then scan.

After working it again stopped working had to reinstall it again!! Went on the Norton site to ask why, not really got a reply yet but t seems others have had the same problem and have been advised to look for malware, I have downloaded anti malwarebytes but it seems to be the trial? Used to have the free version on old laptop, anyway it has found nothing, am really hacked off with it now. can anyone advise please?? 4 times I have reinstalled it now.

Have you tried the logging out and in again routine?

Go to the Start Screen.
Click on your username in the top right corner.
Click on sign out.

When the PC has returned to the lock screen log in again and give Norton a whirl.

Nothing happens when I click on my email, it says logged in as ....... nothing happens I have version 20,21,22.

Ok did it and logged back in still won't scan.
