None of that means that a UK bank will necessarily accept the use of the site. Specially after you've given it your confidential login details.

I always think what happens if you enter your bank details into a software package or website not endorsed by your bank and for whatever reason (bug in the software, exploit not known by author, etc) those details are captured by someone and then they use those details to login to your banks website and empty your accounts?

Call me paranoid if you wish, but for this reason I'll only ever type my details into websites or software provided by my bank. Sure, its possible that someone could still get your details, but at least I can swear that the details were only ever used on authorised websites and/or software.

Desktop versions - Acemoney, Moneymanagerex. gnucash. none of these can pull transactions from bank accounts automatically.

Try xero.com/personal. Should be right up your street.
