Dropped my mobile down the toilet...
Earlier today my mobile popped out of my jeans pocket just as I was turning round by the toilet... and plop.
I dived in and got it out, patted it with a towel and took the battery and sim straight out. Dried them off (a few droplets) and put the phone and battery in a tub of rice in the airing cupboard and put the heating on.
The screen lights on the phone were on when I pulled it out (must have pressed a button) and went out as I was drying it however, as the keys were locked they go out after a few seconds anyway so I have no idea if it short-circuited or not.
How long should I leave it? It's very cosy in the cupboard - the rice is warm to touch.
If I turn it on too early will it do damage?
My OH got me this phone for Christmas and I've only had it a month so will be gutted if it's broken. It's a Nokia C3 touch & type.

Minimum of 24 hours I would have thought maybe 48 if you can manage it to give it the best chance.
Up to now I think you have given it the best chance by pulling the battery asap.
Fingers crossed for you
It's not just about the money0 -
Agreed. I reckon you may not be able to tell if you have got away with this until 48 hours have elapsed. Good luck and I hope you get a positive outcome.0

My HTC wildfire went through a quick wash, done the rice in the airing cupboard. Left it a week and it worked. Was pretty surprised / impressed, hope you are as lucky.0

Hope the toilet had been flushed before it went in!

I second the bag of rice solution0

I've just got it out of the rice after 24-36hours and it's working fine. Very, very relieved. Definitely worth spending 40p on some Tesco Value rice to keep in the cupboard, it saved me a lot of money!!0
