Hi, I seem to be having a little problem with ebay.co.uk i keep getting a The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. when i do a search for an item, earlier today i'd lost my internet connection but it finally came back on, since then this is the only problem i've had.
ok, tried again this time for compatible inks for my sx200 printer as a test, same message, also did a speed test at speedtest.net as you can tell it shouldn't be that.

    You're on Virgin Media.
I've been experiencing a similar thing, not with ebay but with sites in general. Every now and then (happened 4 times yesterday morning), the connection "freezes" for about 30 seconds. Often long enough for the browser to say the connection is lost.
Phoned VM yesterday and they said to go to speedtest.net. First test timed out on the ping, so illustrated the problem nicely.
VM said connect by cable and see if it happens again. That's a little inconvenient as my router is downstairs and computer upstairs. Their Superhub is c!!p with wireless and I had a lot of trouble getting a signal computer's upstairs (in a regular house, not a mansion or anything) could connect to.
Anyway, VM said they can't see anything wrong and refused to accept that their Superhub just isn't. The trouble seemed to start when my line was upgraded from 10Mb to 20Mb a few weeks back.

I really like adblockplus but i think thats the cause of part of my problem. Guess its one of my custom filters, back them up and delete them.
I'd just typed in a load of test in the message box more than 10 works, about double the amount this is and click post quick reply and got the following message "The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters."
I must have put in at least 120 words, disabled adblockplus and its now working ok.
Victor i too got the free upgrade but some reason they upgraded me from 10mb to 30mb, probably due to the screw up on the new modem they sent me and the 3 weeks it took to sort out, new modem wouldnt work, internet still worked on old modem but couldnt get more than 10mb, new modem would do higher than 30mb, but modem required new contract, which they didnt mention when they said i could have a new modem.
I said cancel the lot i go with another company, as i'm not paying for the 20mb connection when on the old modem i could only get 10mb as that what it was limited to. There complaints department in the end got it sorted after 3 weeks and i'm still with them.
something about his leaving so i'm not activating the new modem even though i still had 3 weeks of paid service. you know that 1 month for what your going to use. when you sign up, that 2 months bill at the beginning, the month you had and the month your going to have.

Still got the same problem with ebay.co.uk I try to do a search and i keep getting the following

    The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I dont have any problems like this with any other website. adblockplus has been disabled for this URL only,
so logically it shouldnt be my computer. 1 website out of 30+ I visit.

1 updated and did a scan with malwarebytes 0 found. so not that
2 checked speedtest.net getting a good round speed
3 need to check cookies for ebay and delete and retest.

I did find 1 thing which was weird, the first time i tried searching i wasnt logged in, and i got the error message, then after logging in and did exactly the same search within 1 minute of each search it worked. Weird,
  • It may be a cookie problem then

Why use Ebay for cartridges? I use thes, this is your printer I believe:

    http://www.cartridgeking.eu/finder/Epson-4587/Stylus-4588/SX200series-4639

Compatibles or genuine, I have not found anyone else to beat their combination of price and service. They are based in Gibraltar so you pay no VAT. They send a plastic envelope with each order if you have any returns, in over 5 years of using them I have never needed to return anything, and I order for 4 printers in the family (2 HP, 2 Epson, one is your SX200)

EDIT: this Link shows only Originals, but you can search for compatibles easily.

EDIT2: Tried Firefox 18.02 with Ebay myself, no problems. Might be worth asking FF Help for this problem.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

simple reason, PRICE, 14 compatibles for £10 at the time i think.its been 3 years since i bought any. price has come down now to 50p per cartridge usually buy in 12 so £6 and they usually contain 18-21ml instread of the 6-8ml that epson cartridges have.
Clicked your link didnt see any compatibles mentioned.
never had any problems with the seller i use via ebay INK-POWER,

removed all ebay cookies, and tried again, count 10, error screen, click refresh ebay page loads, type in something to search for, and error message.
    using firefox 18.01

now do the same thing with firefox 3.2.6.28 portable.
type in www.ebay.co.uk, 2sec page loads, type in search and it shows what i looking for.

difference, portable doesnt have any addons loading. 18.02 does. so next test disable all addons done,
firefox 18.02, disabled all addons, restarted firefox, typed in www.ebay.co.uk, and waited 21seconds, error screen not i didnt login to ebay.
and yet again, error message. so its not the extensions.
theres also a new 18.02 portable so i'll try that. maybe something wrong with settings or my firefox install.

downloaded and extracted firefox 19, ebay loaded perfectly, so something with firefox 18.
or my install of 18. as its not the addons that are the issue, can i simply copy that folder to the new install, aka move twice.
copied my entire settings and addons into the firefox 19 and found the issue.
An addon that didnt show in firefox addons, still had the xpi file when i looked at the file had adobe image in the file, deleted the xpi in my original install of 18.02 and ebay is working correctly.
FIXED finally, uninstalled 18 installed 19, didnt like 19 uninstalled and reinstalled 18.02 fresh, copied the contents of my profiles to new profile folder minus a couple of files. adobe image whatever and another folder to do with backups and ebay is working perfectly on load and search.
