In the context of this chapter "state benefits” refers to all forms of income supplement and support provided by central or local government including, but not limited to: income support, job seekers allowance, disability living allowances, incapacity benefit, industrial injuries disablement, council tax benefit, housing benefit, state retirement benefit (state pension), child benefit and all forms of tax credit (child, working and pension).

Perhaps they've changed their guidelines then but when I went BR I rang the OR about this and asked their advice. She said I had to include it as income but to then put it in the expense section as a single item without need for explanation or breakdown as to how it was actually spent. She said it wasn't in their remit to decide how people used DLA.0 -
....And I agree with the way your OR was thinking, but in the last 2 years the IS have become a completely different animal. They (the Insolvency Service) became insolvent 2 years ago (it is one of the few government organisations that have to be self financing) to the tune of £80 million. Since then they have acted in a rather draconian and sometimes unlawful manner to make their own books balance - never think the IPA is about the creditors return - it's all about the IS.Perhaps they've changed their guidelines then but when I went BR I rang the OR about this and asked their advice.
