Which product to fill deep, large space?

On an internal brick wall we've removed some tongue and groove cladding and there's a channel cut out from floor to ceiling (presumably some historic pipework was there) measuring 150mm across and c20mm deep.

Any recommendations of suitable and preferably easy to work with products to fill this gap?

As always, you're assistance is very appreciated!!

None of these. We're going to fill the gap, sand it smooth and then paint the whole wall. The rest of the wall is plastered. Sorry if this wasn't clear.

Easy enough just to mix a small amount of bonding plaster up and put that in to fill the gap.

Or get a sheet of 9mm plasterboard, put two layers then plaster over.

Quick and cheap, expanding foam then plaster over. But for satisfactory foam I would advise a gun grade, complete with gun (not so cheap if you do not own one!)
