JSA and gambling winnings of plus 6.5k

I've been wondering what would the best thing to do if I was to win more than the savings bracket for JSA. Obviously I don't want to commit any fraud so would it be okay to sign off JSA before making any withdrawals of this kind?

Thanks

If you are on contribution based JSA then any savings you have are not taken into account.

If you are on income based JSA then any savings between £6000 and £16000 will make a difference to your JSA. If you have over £16000 then you won't be entitled to any income based JSA.

The same applies to HB and CTB.

You will need to inform them of any change in your savings and they will take the appropriate action.

    Edit:

Instead of signing off income based JSA you can continue to claim and be awarded NI credits only which will be useful if you need to claim again, (and for your pension) but you will have to comply with all the necessary job hunting/interviews etc.
