I didn't put the price in cos I know we are all on different steps of the budget scale, and what seems a lot to me might be either nothing to someone else or worse, 10 times what they have to spend - but the ** indicates it was massively overspent for me:o. Don't want to offend anyone as we're all here for the purpose of NSD whatever our reasons.

Very thoughtful of you and I do feel the same when I admit to some of my spends on here - which is why I'd like to thank you all for your lovely comments about the weekend away. You're all :A

    So no 14 today.
    So want chocolate
    Will have some melon instead.

    Very restrained beanie x

Well yesterday wasn't a NSD, went out with DB and his GF for dinner (their xmas gift to us) at a well known chef's Italian restaurant. Paid for train there for me and OH so I could have a few lemonades and although DB was paying for food, me and OH said we'd go 1/2 on the drink's bill, so that, plus taxi home meant it was actually quite a spendy night - but a lovely one and a lovely time so worth every penny.

Consequently I had a little bit of a sore head today and have just been pottering about the house - even got the bed sheets drying outside :D and captured NSD # 9 :T

Can't believe it's Sun evening already.

Oh, and having a  about our double duvet - kinda knew it wasn't square but didn't realise double duvet ones were supposed to be, except I then checked the label and it's supposed to be 200 x 200cm - it's deff longer than wider (depending on how you put it in the cover) so means it's either not really wide enough, or not long enough on the bed. I always thought it a little odd shaped but just put it down to our bedding - now I KNOW it's not the correct measurements it's gonna bug the life out of me. :o

I think it's been down to knowing it was nearly half term and I could start to wind downI've not had a very MSE week buying throat sweets and paracetamol on different occasions and other non-essential items. I did manage to get NSD #4 & 5 on Wednesday and today. So half way there!

  • Sorry i've been awol recently, but i think i may have to just give up this month, i had some really bad news on Tuesday when my mum rang to say my gran had been found dead.

It's been a really sad time for all of us, but it's not helped by the fact that none of my family like or speak to each other, so i have to play go between all the time, so that has left me feeling totally exhausted, & also very hurt that they care so little for my feelings that they would put me in this position.

Anyhow, with all the things needing sorting & paying for, i have totally lost track of my NSD, so may just hang around & chat for the rest of this month if that's ok?

Was planning to catch up with the thread, but i feel shattered, so ((((((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))))) to anyone who needs them, i'm going to head off to bed & get ready for my big day tomorrow.... first day of my new job, a small chink of light peeping from behind the big dark cloud!!

Big hugs BDINI, you really have been through the mill recently what with work and now this. Frankly I'd feel like telling your family to stuff themselves and if they can't put differences aside to speak directly to each other at a time like this then that's their problem - not yours. Of course I realise its never as easy as that. Please do hang around and chat, we'd miss you if you didn't. xx

Time for me to do a quick catch-up!

Last checked in on Monday, so....

Tuesday : spend day. Always knew it was going to be as I had to pay bus fare into the city in order to take part in a customer focus group (which earned me almost half the cost of my new combi-oven). I also bought the latest mag from Holland &B, as I always check for a new release when I'm near a store.

Wednesday I managed to keep as an NSD - taking me up to 6.

Thursday was looking good as an NSD - but then the window cleaner came for paying!!! (So I paid for this week and the other visit due before month end. Only had the cash because of being paid that way on Tuesday - so it would otherwise have been an NSD with me owing them money!)

Friday I did a grocery shop. Had to spend either Friday or Saturday as needed milk for DS before Saturday afternoon, so decided to hit Mr T on the way home from work which meant I could get ingredients for bean casserole for when I next need to cook up lunches for work.

    Saturday was NSD #7

    Today is NSD #8 :)

11 more days in the month, and 4 more NSDs to reach target.

Not planning to spend tomorrow (got the groceries I'd have needed while I was shopping on Friday), but have to pay bus fare into the city again on Tuesday :( It's only 16 months since my last eye test, but my glasses don't seem to be doing the job they were - and the few things I could do without them 6 months ago I can't anymore. So the opticians have recommended having them checked early again!!! There was only 11 months between my previous two eye tests and a major change in prescription then, so we're all expecting me to have to find the money for new glasses

The rest of the week will be played by ear, but I can't think of anything I desperately need from the shops - so it'll all hang on the last D/Debit and the need for petrol (going to DD's next Saturday which will almost certainly get me to the 'need to fill up' position).
