They are persistent. You will get used to seeing the fake invoices on the doormat. I reckon 3 invitations to pay, then the threats of Court action.

Numerous tickets and sequences of letters received, still to hear anything via the threatened forwarding of 'Parking Offences' to line manager for Disciplinary action...

    Watch this space...

I work as a nurse in GG&C health board. Received 2 parking tickets for over staying the 4 hour rule. The car registered to hubby so he's panicking because I've now had 3rd letter for first ticket and 1st letter for 2nd letter from Debt Recovery Ltd. This is first time this has happened since parking came in. This third letter now threatening intended court action. Although folks at work have said to ignore ( and no court cases known to me, as yet ), he's still worrying about this. Please help put his mind at rest. I'm adamant I'm sticking to my guns but he's worried cos he read somewhere that the law had changed in October 2012.

Debt Recovery Plus are powerless vermin who send out templated preprinted letters out on behalf of scamming parking companies. They have no power at all, they just use threatening mail to try to get people to pay.

The next letters will be from Zenith Collections, they are in fact Debt Recovery Plus pretending to be someone else, if you look on the bottom right hand corner you'll see they are a trading name of DR+. If you pay close attention to the signature you'll see James becomes Claire across both companies, they have gender issues ;)

In regards to the new law, the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, only applies to England and Wales, in Scotland it means nothing! So they have no way of determining who was driving the vehicle, only the driver is liable who may or may not be the registered keeper. Despite all the threats the RK is under no legal obligation to say who that is.

So the advice is to ignore this scam completely, they never do court , they will disappear once you've ignored the template letters.

We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I second Stroma. Don't panic and tell your OH that if he really wants to spend the money that there are good shops in Buchanan Street and that you'll spend it there for him. :-)
  • Thanks guys. Have passed this onto hubby and now he's a bit happier about the situation.

I'm surprised there has not been a coming together between land rover and mini rover.

A appealled to the PCN than got rejected i emaild them immediatly with more photo evidence that showed there wer no yellow lines where i parked and no signes near me only one about 30 ft away that was actually tied to a tree facing the wrong way. I had no response, then the letter form the collections so i phoned them and they basically said i lost my appeal so pay up or get a solicitor. i immediatly emailed all itinary inc photos to POPLA and they responded next day that i couldnt appeal as i was a few weeks late so said to pay hte fine immediatly. i pointed out that i got booked at a hospital and was in and out over the previous 6 weeks on a weekly basis so had other things occupying my mind that was why i was late responding to them althought i responed back to the PCN company. What happens now do i pay its gone from £30 early payment to £114. My argument was i was never in th ewong in the first place.

ps i have never used a forum befor so appoligies if iv posted wrong.

If I was a staff member who had received one of these, I'd be kicking a huge fuss up with the management of the hospital.
