Is she likely to get charged with this? If so, what will be the punishment?
!
If convicted from memory 6 to 8 points and a fine.0 -
Oh dear. Yes the guy i reported got 6 points and a large fine.
Even though the damage was small. You say not aware of a collision but
find evidence on the bumper. It maybe the undercoat on your bumper not his paint. If your plastic bumper nudged a metal panel then there maybe no paint transfer from his to yours. But there will be your paint on his.
You need proper legal advice.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
My advice would be stop worrying about it. What's happened has happened. Respond honestly to letters from the police and mobility and leave it to them. If it's clearly minor damage, and disputed at that, which suggests it's possible you could have unknowingly caused the damage, the police would be unlikely to prosecute. How could you be expected to stop if you didn't know you'd done anything? And you're not denying anything, you're just giving the facts - it's motability who are querying the other side.
So leave them to it to sort between themselves.0 -
My advise would be to contact your local force to ensure that they are aware incase the driver wishes to take this further.
Please do this as you can be reported for failing to stop after an accident - this is regardless if you knew you did it or not.
It is suppose to be reported within 24 hours but if you are not aware its obviously impossible to do so.
Aslong as insurance details are swapped all will be fine.
How does that work.
Surely if you are not aware of having an accident, why would you stop? Just curiousI am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p0 -

You would hope common sense would come into play somewhere.0 -

Ta!
We had all better stay at home then.:rotfl:I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p0 -
Just thought i'd add that our insurance do not know what damage there is to the other car, all they know is that they have put in a claim for damage. Our insurance also haven't mentioned anything about a witness, surely if they had one they would have said so to strengthen their claim?!
If someone comes to check our car will they be able to tell the difference between old damage & something possibly done in this "incident"? We do have damage to one of the back bumpers which has been there since the car was about a week old.2012 - £350.88
