Is that legal to work 6 hours without a break ?Are you covered by a union ?
    'Rest breaks at work’

If they work more than 6 hours a day, they have the right to one uninterrupted 20 minute rest break during their working day (this could be a tea or lunch break).

LOL, you mean you are not bored of my pics yet?

Talking of which I popped out with some crunched up frosties for the robins this afternoon. It was cold in the stiff breeze and felt crap so didn't hang about long but did snatch a couple of decent pics.

    Wanna see em?

Of course not. They brighten the thread so much. :)

Can't hang around now but will look later if you post any. Thank you. :T

    Evening all

I've got a little bit of time inbetween feeding the kids and going to get OH from work so have had a quick catch up.

Lots of people seem to be having a tough time at the moment so ((hugs)) to any who need them.

I had a bit of a meltdown this morning. A payment was taking out of my bank incorrectly  (all sorted now) and even though it didn't cause a problem it was just the straw that broke the camels back if you see what I mean? I feel really silly for getting so upset over it when there are so many people with much bigger problems than me but I'm really exhausted at the moment and not feeling well so everything just got too much.

Feeling better this afternoon though, a bit calmer. As usual my 3 year old DS1 could be relied upon to cheer me up. I asked him what we should get his Grandma for her birthday at the weekend. His answer? A toilet seat!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'm not quite sure she would appreciate it though.

:) Thanking you - please find answers below :)

Are there a few of you in the same situation, with no written contract? - All of us

    The aspect I would be looking at is the legal definition of an employee whether you have a written contract or not;

is there a personal file for you with a written job offer in it - if yes then you are an employee - No
are you paid electronically directly from the company to you (not via an agency) - if yes then you are probably an employee - No
do you have wage slips with the employers name on - if yes then you are probably an employee - No
can you choose what work you do there and/or what hours you work - if no then probably an employee - No
are you subject to the same terms and conditions as someone with a written contract? - if yes then probably an employee. - maybe

Other questions I think are valid are

Do you supply your own equipment/vehicle? (if no you are probably an employee)

Can you send someone else in to do your work for you? (If no you are employee)
Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen
