    Spirallingdown, may I recommend a book, "The Dog Listener" by Jan Fennell. We read it some years ago and have found it invaluable. :)

    bcw123, may I recommend a book, "How To Win Friends And Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. :beer:

    Thank you for the recommendation, I'll have a look for it.

    I've left the dogs for 1.5 hrs, gave them their Kongs with peanut butter in (their Fav treat) so off I go back to see what has happened. I fully expect to go back to the kitchen wrecked because I locked them in there but will be pleasantly surprised if it's not.

    Thanks

    Had a look on google and it says that using diluted vinegar or lemon juice is fine :)

    Just as an afterthought on this I got my tub of citric acid(50g) from Tesco amongst the brewing supplies for about 90p. Enough to last for years of descaling in my area.

    Spiralling Down, I'm no expert but it sounds like separation anxiety and like another poster, I recommend Jan Fennell Dog Whisperer book. Basically you need to take charge and take the lead of your pack. You are letting your dog be Alpha of the pack and they get anxious when one of the pack goes off on their own (ie. you going out). Ignore the dog when you return home (because you're not anxious and you need to show this to your dog), go through doors first, don't let them be higher than you on stairs, etc. Google dog separation anxiety and you should find some tips.

    My mini schnauzer had a big dog attitude and tried to rule our house. She behaves much better when I don't give her too much attention. Good luck!

    Exactly! :T:T:T

    Your dog knows every pack needs a leader, they reassess this every single time they see you to check you are it, (it's nothing personal, it's just what dogs do :)). If they aren't confident there is one, they'll try to be it for the sake of the pack, bless 'em, and that's when you get problems, either because they are really stressed or because they get aggressive. Please do read the book because it explains all this in so much more detail, and good luck.

    I am currently implementing this with the aforementioned Alfie, who is getting a little too big for his boots at the minute. Probably our fault, not his, because he's little he's granted certain privileges the others aren't. Time to stop that I think! (Still mourning the loss of my fillet steak :mad: :rotfl:).
    Hope is not a strategy.

    went to boots this afternoon. All week i've been meaning to try the 2 £5 No7 vouchers (with different barcodes) in one transaction. I bought 3 of the No7 Total Renewal Micro-dermabrasion Face Exfoliator in 3 different transactions. They are £11 each, but I paid £1 each as I used 2 vouchers in each transaction:

    For a couple of weeks now OH has been lamenting the loss of his best reading glasses. He is notorious for losing glasses and I stock up on cheap one from sada all the time for just this sort of occasions. We'd given up hope this time and beginning to think a trip to get some decent ones is called for.

    Today did my occasional tesco recycling run. I only take cans as that's all you get points for. While absentmindedly loading the machine with cans I put one in that it wouldn't accept. Only OH' s glasses in their case. Now tho I'm getting the blame for having them there in the first place :rotfl:

    how? plz and thankyou;):o:eek::rotfl::T
