How long till DLA decision?

My sister applied for DLA in January. She had a medical examination from a doctor who came to her house 2 weeks ago. How long does it usually take before she gets a decision about her claim? Is there a time scale that the DWP must stick to?

No, it really depends on caseloads and the complexity of the claim.

The average time is about 12 weeks at present, but if successful, any money owed will be backdated to the date of the claim..

I would give it another 2 weeks, and then phone them to ask what the progress on the claim is.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
