Plug and play not working.

Windows 7 HTPC. Yesterday the keyboard stopped working. It's been playing up for a while so went for a new one today.

Plugged in the USB dongle and....nothing. Tried to put a USB mouse in. Nothing.

Thankfully had a USB to ps2 adaptor so got the mouse working but none of the USB plugs seem to register anything. Besides the wifi dongle which works fine.


Any ideas?

Have you tried restarting it? (not sleep, or standby, a full restart)
Does the device manager say anything about USB working?
Is it all usb sockets, or just the same one?

I've restarted several times.

The wifi dongle works in any USB port. But plug anything else in and nothing happens. Device manager says they're working fine.

Just reinstalled windows and it's still the same. Can only assume its hardware related.

Recognised the USB pen I used to install windows thPugh. But won't recognise the USB mouse, keyboard, Bluetooth adaptor or external drives.
