The Halifax bank account transfer system...FRUSTRATES ME!

GRRRRRRRRRR!! Has anyone else had problems with this...??

I opened the high interest account with the Halifax over two months ago and I am STILL waiting for them to send me the transfer form so I can move all my bits from my old account to this one. I have called endless times and they keep saying they'll send a message to the transfer dept. but still no luck!

This is getting so frustrating now as all I want is for them to put a bit of paper on the post but no joy! They won't let me speak to the transfer department myself, and even though the account is up and running I just want to get my salary moved over asap. Why can't they do this?? ARGH!

It seems a bit funny I've not received it - yet more ways to delay giving me the £100 I'm entitled to!!

Anyone have any suggestions or been in this situation? Will writing a snotty letter get me anywhere or demanding to speak to a manager??

    Hello,

Sorry to hear about your frustrations - but it all sounds somewhat familiar! There's a long thread on here somewhere with similar tales of woe.

I had problems with mine too and in the end I just went into my local branch and spoke to a manager who was really helpful. They can print out one of the transfer forms in branch, so if you go armed with all your details you can fill it in there and then and they can post it off.

Though I must warn you that even after doing this, I was sent out another form a week or so later saying that they hadn't received my instructions so I had to fill it in again anyway.

Methinks they've been a bit inundated! Your local branch might be useful though.

    Good luck!

    Yes defo inundated

this tended to happen to applications done on-line or over the phone

where as in branch the forms are done at the same time as the application

have you funded the account with £100 to trigger your card? I know that in the branch they can only begin the switching process once the account has been funded (can take the funds out the next day)

and don't think the pain ends there.
Even after providing all my switching details... IN BRANCH... twice... it still took them two months before they contacted my other branch for my list of SO's.
The other bank didn't reply, so HFax waited 2 weeks before chasing them up.
All in all, it is nearly 3 months and I'm still waiting.

They aren't very good at paying out their incentives either...

Well, i did indeed go to my local brance and the manager there was very apologetic and helpful. he could see from my records that I had been chasing it up forever and had been using the account properly (ie they had sent me my switch card and chequebook so there was no probs with the address).

I finally got the letter saying the switch was going ahead, but if they don't give me the £100 pounds I'm fairly due, I'm ready to get arsey!
