    Hi

I am sure Britannia offer passbooks on their savings accounts, and the Halifax too (I think)

brittania doesnt issue a passbook on its regular savings account, only pays around 5.20% gross :( so i dread to think what the rate would be if it did issue a passbook on the account :rotfl: most other building societies do issue passbooks on regular savers two exceptions that im aware of that dont is scarborough BS and kent reliance direct reg saver

On some of earlier 7.5% Regular Savers Britannia did offer a passbook. On some of the later ones they skimped with a passcard.

I'm sorry to think you missed out on one of Britannia's few decent offerings from the past decade, blf :(.

i never bother with reg savers that finish after 12 months like the 7.5% reg saver was/is, brittanias variable rate ongoing reg saver which ive had for several years contributing min 20.00 a month and making 1 big withdrawal a year is statement based ( not sure of the frequency cos after ages of not having nothing from them i asked them y, answer was a communication had gone back not known at this address ( obv postie had posted it through wrong door) so they took me off their mailing list, apart from them sending me duplicate statements on request ive still not had anything off them 7 months later so presume statements must be once a year, reg saver is fixed monthly amount by direct debit so i guess statements once a year is sufficient just think with lack of admin costs in running the account they should be paying at least 6% :(

nationwide do for their regular saver but not sure if this is open to 'new customers only' or if you have to have their new one which I think is telephone/internet based
;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

I opened the Newcastle Monthly Saver account last week with a passbook. I want a few more passbook accounts so I can save little pots of money and actually see how much I've saved at the end of the year without being tempted to dip into them like you would be with a cash card or Internet transfer. :rotfl:

The YBS 7% looks interesting.
