Both children are old enough to get married, good chance they have friends or relatives they could stay with for the evening or overnight or the ability to use a powerful torch (24 hour Tesco if you don't have two). Haven't you ever camped out in a tent?

I was working and left home when I was 16 and just after my 18th Birthday took my first mortgage and got on the property ladder.

I really feel sorry for your kids if you have wrapped them in so much cotton wool they cannot look after themselves at their ages!
