Coop bank and fraud refund?

There are many other fraud attempts reported on these forums using this co's name. As the others are cc transactions, I'd suggest it's safe to assume this is a card transaction as well.

I do think banks sometimes check 'unusual' transactions. Either the amount OR the location of the transcaction might trigger this.
