I remember when my kids where small we had a issue with FB, if I remember correctly I went into my pc settings somewhere and mad eit impossible to access FB on it. Can anyone help withis this basically a friends kids are having issues and would like to stop them accessing FB on their pc.
Also this person has a contracted Blackberry phone and their parents want to stop them getting FB on that too, is it possible to stop?? Either by calling up phone company or by doing something to seetings to prevent them accessing FB.
Thanks very much, this is a bullying issue but steps have been taken but trying to eliminate the FB part too

On the PC, one quick way is to edit the \windows\system32\drives\etc\lmhosts file to make your PC point somewhere else when someone tries to access Facebook. I suspect that's not what you want, and it wouldn't help on the Blackberry.
I believe some routers allow a blacklist based on domain name, and you can do stuff in Internet Explorer to block certain sites. Again, no help on the BB.0 -
Fixed the path for you
[\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts]
As droopsnoop mentioned, you could create some entries in the local hosts file for *.facebook.com to point to 127.0.0.1 as follows:
127.0.0.1 login.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 https://www.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 blog.facebook.com
127.0.0.1 apps.facebook.com
This should cause a timeout on the browser when trying to access Facebook.
There are other methods to block sites and monitor access such as parental software.
I've listed some free software/methods below:
OpenDNS: http://www.opendns.com/home-solutions/parental-controls/
K9 Web Protection: http://www1.k9webprotection.com/

If you have a Netgear router then these often include a custom blacklist (like droop says). You can also exclude a specific computer (by local IP address) from the blacklist.0

If the kids are getting bullied on FB,why are they going onto FB?0

Whilst that can be inferred, the OP doesn't say that they are being bullied - they may as easily be the bullies.
But yes. Morbid curiosity?0 -

Tell you what Mr Snoop, give me your phone number and ill ask the family concerned to contact you as you are interested to know whats happening. Maybe you can help further to this by giving the family constructive views. Is that ok?All the big powers they've silenced me. If it's so secret, don't say it's a bullying issue then? ... just ask how to stop access to FB to avoid the questions.0 -
Surely the easiest option is to remove there phones and ban them from using the PC.
IF these kids have an ounce of brains, then they will find out about using proxy server.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
