Morning all, We're on a very tight budget at the moment and were thinking of taking the kids away for a short midweek break to the Liverpool/Cheshire area as it's not too far from us. We intend get a family room in a Travelodge/Premier Inn to be used as a base and visit places of interest to the kids during the day. Does…

The red squirrel reserve at Formby was a favourite with my kids. Poor squirrels have been decimated by illness but I believe the numbers are on the increase again. It's a short walk to the lovely beach, and very little to spend money on except for peanuts for the squirrels.
