Hi folks,.
After all the negative comments about webuyanycar i thought i would buck the trend and priase webuyanycar in glasgow west, went with a mate to sell his car here last week, and they were absouloutely brilliant!!
My mate had done the valuation on line, and got what he felt was an acceptable offer, few hundred quid below what the price guides were saying he could get in a private sale, but he was happy to forego that money and not have to advertise and have randoms turn up at his house!!
My mate had been totally truthful in his online assessment of his car and had noted down every scratch and mark. When the guy was inspecting the car he said becuase all the scratches were roughly in the one area it would be better to put that area down for repainting rather than all the individual scratches. When the guy went back to his desk and worked out the offer based on his inspection the offer was actually more than my mates online valuation and pretty close to the private sale figures quoted.
All in, the guys were brilliant to deal with and gave a more than fair offer. Would totally recommend them if you opt to go down the no hassle route.
From what i can see if you are honest with your assessment of the car, they wont look to reduce their offer if they dont have to.
If you put in that your car is in mint condition and dont tell them about the scratches/dents etc that they will obviously see from their inspection, then they will quite rightly adjust your offer to reflect.
Overall if you dont want the hassle of selling privately, and are realistic about the condition of your car and what it is worth webuyanycar is a good option if my mates expierance is anything to go by!!

We sold our car to them last weekend and it was a hassle free, easy process. They gave
us a fair quotation. We felt slightly dubious at first, as we had heard and seen so many negative reviews. And was fully prepared to walk away if they tried haggling the price down.
Never came to that though. After a few minutes in the office checking car details the guy went outside and did the walk around check, looking at any scratches, etc. Then it was back to the office where he updated details on computer and confirmed the quotation. Its then just a case of showing your ID and supplying your bank details. Easy.
If you are selling your car to them though bare in mind that you pay a £50 admin fee. And its another £25 if you want the money transferring the next working day. We took the car in Saturday and the money went in yesterday. :beer:0 -
I thought they were awful when I used them.
Knocked down the price for spurious reasons.
And what's this £25 if you want your cash the next day!? One can transfer cash immediately, and free, using Faster Payments.
And £50 admin fee? For what? Doing their job for what they are in business for? They buy and sell cars, that's what they do.

A friend of my boyfriends sold a car to them and found the process fairly good. I believe that he was selling a car he'd been left or given by an elderly relative, wasn't knowledgable about cars, didn't want or need a car, so the process for him was fine.
However, I've always wondered, how do they come to their valuations?
I only ask as out of curiosity did a valuation on my car which was written off recently, they offered £800, I got £1855 on my insurance which is a huge difference.0 -

We went to the one just south of Glasgow city centre last year, we put in our details on the site, car wasn't in good condition but it came up around £3k, went over and they offered £1k!
Ended up trading it in with Arnie the following week for £3.5k (and another ancient car for £500)0 -

Personal customers might get to use Faster Payments for free, but a business pays, to say nothing of additional costs in making individual payments rather than doing them in a batch.
Whether it's worth paying the fee is a personal decision. But the option not to pay it is there.0
