    Yours of course, dear. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

After all, you started the pointless thread - as other people have also pointed out.

It's a mystery to me how they work.

You find some pretty innocuous posts/threads being removed by the team for reasons that are unclear. Then, as I have seen recently, you get posters who have quite obviously returned in another guise after being PPR'd and claiming to be Newbies who immediately go on the attack, are aggressive, offensive, bullying and cause trouble and yet they are allowed to remain on the forum.

I realise they are a small team but rules are rules. At least be consistent.

I would love to see this one tested by the courts if it ever came to that. I am sure the Banks would group together to provide legal aid for whomever was being threatened with these charges by MSE.

Plus the press would have a field day with the bad publicity for Martin if his team tried this. Just imagine the Daily Mail outrage :money:

I suspect it's there to try and encourage the more naughty people to behave rather than something they ever would seriously consider implmenting.

Sometimes when I log on to MSE there are multiple spam postings made by very odd sounding newbies who could possibly, make oodles of dosh if we were so gullible as to respond - I would imagine that the MSE post to Cheepskate (which I cannot be bovvered to recopy) is really aimed at the multplie spammers.

Lol, I think some of my posts may come close to being deleted , but not yet
Found it while looking for something else.

Just found it a really strange one, seeing as this site is all about fighting for consumer rights.

As a established poster, sometimes we do post to the wrong board, but there is always some kind soul who will point it out to us before the enter button has even been hit

£40 squid for removing a post is a tad excessive. Wonder if they charge a flat per hour rate or break it down into minuite sections.........

We are members of this site , not consumers .

And where does it say they will charge £40 for moving a post?

    Ive found this

Charge offenders for the administrative costs of identifying and removing their posts at the rate of £40 per hour, plus any external costs that we incur.
Take legal action to recover these costs.
Report offenders to the authorities if their actions appear to amount to a breach of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 or any other relevant criminal legislation

    It doesnt mention moving posts

apologies , ive re read your post , i thought you said moving posts

I think they would probably find it difficult to get the money! However, I don't mind this at all.
They are not talking about mistakes - I have had a couple of posts moved in my early days, and once deleted (the shame!) as I had quite inadvertently given a seriously wrong impression. No-one came after me at all, so I think they just have it as a back-up for real trouble makers.
And after the deletion I took myself off the board for awhile, and now check my posts carefully!

It DOES NOT say £40 for moving a post. It says £40 AN HOUR. And it is VERY OBVIOUSLY aimed at those that have been banned and re-register and continue to post spam/nuisance etc.

"When banned former users do re-register or otherwise disrupt the forum, this can cause severe distress to other users. Dealing with unwanted ex-forum users' posts distracts the team from the core purpose of the site and takes up time. Therefore in such circumstances we may:
    • Report offenders to their ISP.
    • Charge offenders for the administrative costs of identifying and removing their posts at the rate of £40 per hour, plus any external costs that we incur.
    • Take legal action to recover these costs."

I think the OP needs to learn to read properly - and not post threads in incorrect places for the sake of causing trouble/scaremongering.
