Hotel Domus Praetoria.

Not upmarket, but charming. Great staff, no restaurant but you get a voucher to go across the road to have coffee and a cake. Just like the locals.

One of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in.

We went as a family and I have recommended it to two couples who stayed there and thought it was great. 10 minutes, really, walk from the termini.

Not very expensive either.

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)

I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.
