Free Antivirus Software

If you go via the Microsoft support page

you can get a free 12 month subscription to CA's ezAntiVirus software. The offer is valid until August but I can't guarantee that the link via MS will be there that long.

    Great spot! This would be ideal for Windows users who do not have antivirus.

    Usually thre recommended free AV program is AVG.

    another option is download.com have a choice of free virus checkers and can be viewed by user reviews.

    I used the CA offer, it is not a very good AV as it is has the tendency to digest your memory. Installed AVAST free AV last month and it is a more superior product to CA's ezAntiVirus ... and it's free.. always

    Used EZAntivirus a few years ago but it had a tendency of making you disable the Real time monitoring to delete the infected file...

    Avast is supposed to be quite good, but still prefer NOD32
