about to start my stooze

Hi all,

I just have a quick query. I have now had an egg card to act as a conduit, and just got my Capital One 18month free BT card. The egg card has a much lower limit than the other (a tenth in fact). So my question is, can I just keep whacking egg money into my current account, and then BTing to Capital One, until I get near my Capital One limit? Will Capital One not get suspicious if I keep ringing them once a week and asking to BT? Can they refuse to do a BT?

cheers, surfcat

Some credit card providers have limits on the number of balance transfers you can perform in a year, Barclaycard told me that their limit was 5 per year. Not sure about Capital One, why not give them a ring and ask...

Phone Egg and ask for a credit limit increase. When my anniversary offer started I had a limit of £4000 which I transferred from them then asked for an increase. They increased my limit by another £4000 there and then. I immediately shifted this 'bonus' to my interest making ING account.

  • If your egg limit is say £1000 and your CapOne is £10,000, there is nothing to stop you doing a BT for £10,000 onto your Cap One card, thus putting you £9000 in credit with egg. Then you do a SBT to your savings account from egg (on-line so no phonecalls necessary) for £10,000, thus leaving you at your maximum credit limit of £1000 once more.
