Help with changing over

Hi guys

We are currently on prepayment meters for both gas and elec with e-on.

We want to change over to direct debit and want to find the best company/deal to go with.

Eon will change the meters for free and there rates are
elec: 26.4 standing daily charge with 13.29 pence per unit
Gas: 29.2 standing daily charge with 4.1 pence per unit

this is for a 12month contract to.

Do a comparison using any comp site with your annual kWh figures and it will tell you-we don't know your consumption. You can't tell just from comparing unit kWh rates, there are too many other variables.
There is no universal 'best' or 'cheapest', it depends on your usage and region.

The only thing is that as we are on pre pay meter so when you fill in the details on comparason sits it just gives you prices for other pre pay tarrifs

So tell the comparison site that you are on a standard tariff and see which supplier it says is the cheapest for you.

im just going through the same at the moment, switching from Prepayment to Credit. After some research i found out that edf are one of the only companies that dont charge for changing the meter, you have to be with them for 28 days on a prepayment and then they arrange for the meter to be exchanged.

You can tell the comp site that you are on any tariff you like! The point is to get the comparative data for credit meters. You already know what you are paying now on PPM's.

Here's a good article that describes how all the major companies will treat a request to move from a PPM to a credit meter

But getting yourself on the best deal is probably most important - the savings could well outweigh the cost of changing a meter where applied (about £50)
