I can't answer calls on my Ace. Twice recently my phone has rung and I've had no way of answering the call - no green/red icon flashing, just whatever was on the screen at the time. Also no record of call - if there is such a thing - so I don't even know who to call back.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried switching it off, battery out for a couple of minutes, the switch it on?
If not then a factory reset might work.
Beyond that I'd look on this forum http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-ace/
and maybe ask there as they're pretty knowledgeable about all thing android.0 -
Assuming it's not something silly like the proximity sensor, have you tried booting into safe mode? Could be an app mucking things up.0

Hmm, that sounds interesting, but I have no idea what booting into safe mode means. Could you explain? Thank you for your help.0 -

Thanks. I did try that, but to be quite frank, I didn't understand the content. I get rebooting in safe mode, but how do you know which apps are causing the problem? Can't you just delete them from your phone?0 -
You can, but the object of the exercise here is to determine whether an app is in fact the culprit as opposed to... something else.0

I realise that...but, I don't understand HOW safe mode contributes to this...does it flag up suspicious apps?
I'm not generally thick, just when it comes to this sort of thing!0 -

Ahhhh, now I see, thank you.
And now my phone is working again...haven't tried anything you suggested - it just works again. I have no idea why.
If it happens again I will definitely try the safe mode approach.
Thanks for all your help, it's much appreciated.:)0
