Amazon have free to kindle ebooks all the time about Wordpress.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Not an expert on Wordpress, but do work with MySQL databases on a regular basis.
What sort of issue are you getting and what error messages on your webpages?0 -
Just at the time i am thinking of launching a blog using wordpress!0

Great, thanks for your reply, sorry I never got back last night, working late. Ok, I exported my Wordpress database for my old site as it was hacked. I installed a fresh copy of Wordpress, and imported the old database, the only problem is, it has doubled up the tables, I just want my Wordpress to look at the old tables. I tried deleting the tables in the new database, and then importing the old one, but when I do that and then go to my site, it thinks I am on the last steps of the "famous 5 step install of Wordpress", which once I go through, inserts new tables.... so frustrating, I just want my site looking at the old database that I have imported. Does that all make sense? lol0 -

Hi Kay
dont be put off, Wordpress is amazing, I love it, I use it for many sites. Just make sure you take the security steps seriosly though to protect your site, a few of mines have been hacked in the past monththere are a few free firewall plugins available that will protect your site, and plenty of other resources for other steps to take.

You might get an expert to come along to help but you might be better off posting this in the wordpress forums as there are bound to be people there that can help. I've had issues in the past and the replies sometimes take a while but they do (mostly) get back to you. Good luck with it!0 -

Thanks Hoseman, I have tried the forums before, but hardly ever get replies. Thought I would try my luck here, hehe0 -

You need a Wordpress expert to be honest - You could do it through the backend by deleting tables and updating configs, but it would be far safer to find the proper way of importing the old database.
As hoseman says, you are more likely to get an expert on the WP forums than on here.0 -
Just a thought but is a backup an option here? I messed up my site once as a result of playing around with php and my hosting company restored it using an old copy. I got my old site back and it was still up to date as it from a few hours previous to when the mishap occured.0
