What will Britain look like in 2019 after leaving the EU ?

The indians, Chinese, Brazilians etc will want to negotiate large deals with large trading blocks. They will have little interest in us on our own....believe me! We will be sidelined!
Thats right folks, all succesfull individual nations are just going down the pan.
Wake up. Even Morocco is signing a trade deal with Europe. The UK will at the very least get a trade agreement that is the equal of this, although in reality will likely be a lot more generous.0 -

Morocco has strong ties with French (and Spain) as their former colony. The same can not be said about the UK.0 -
@Niv Being part of the EU (or the Euro-Zone) doesn't prevent anyone to trade with the United Commonwealth. Germany exports twice as much to India (the most populous UC member) than the UK.
I Know. I wasnt suggesting that we need exclusively to do one thing or the other, just reading this site makes you think the world will fall apart if we leave the EUYNWA

The forum actually looks to me to be quite balanced on the matter. But then again I have put the leftie propaganda trolls on Ignore.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

None of your post will happen because the Tories won't win the next election and there will not be a referendum. What will Britain look like in 2019 after leaving the EU ? Fast forward to 2015.
The British public don't care about leaving Europe (it's not even in their top 10 of issues) and the first poll (You Gov - 25th Jan) since Cameron's announcement shows this - as there was no change at all in voting intentions.
However, the Tory party might well tear itself apart and destroy itself finally (since it is only the right that seems to care) - that wasn't in your fast forward scenario....
FAST FORWARD
oh and when the Tories lose the 2015 election (because they obsessed with Europe when voters aren't) it will be 18 years since they won an election. By 2020 - that'll be 23 years...
Now wouldn't it be nice to have a PM who was focusing on things that matter - like Growth & Jobs say?A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

The debate on Europe has started. This is just the beginning.
Europe will become an issue. As its going to shape the UK's direction for some decades to come.0 -
Isn't it odd that everyone who is pro-Europe is making the suggestion that Britain is too weak to go it alone.
Actually Europe will be far weaker without the UK.0 -

It's because the EU as it is is a basket case and so they have no other argument to offer, other than to say that they want Britain absorbed into a federal superstate asap. Although may Europhiles undoubtedly think that they don't much say it for fear of the howls of derision that it will receive.
So they fall back on the negative tactic of saying that we are where we are, and like it or not we can't afford to end the agony. Between a rock and hard place the only answer is stay with the devil you know, and grin and bear it.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

I dunno Wookster. I am marginally more in favour of staying in because I'm concerned about what will happen if we leave. It doesn't make me pro-Europe in a cheerleader sense. I've already mentioned what my concerns are elsewhere re foreign direct investment and these are finely balanced.
One thing I'm actually sure will happen though is that there will be yet more changes in business law for those of us who run businesses to face up to. For all the blame we place on the EU - much of it very justified - I still think our own government does like a good tinker. It will be interesting to see how they justify changing the landscape for businesses all the time when they haven't got the EU to blame for it. I'm pretty sure they still will... I'm bitter because I've just come off the back of doing all my returns (Corporate and Personal) and the sodding questions are different every year:mad::mad::mad:.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
