Transfer Returned Unpaid (ING to Santander)
Comments

Sorry, I should clarify that the ING account in question is not mine so there have been no cheques from my Santander account to the ING account nor any direct debits between the two.
This is a one off payment from someone else.0 -
So -its not a straightforward transaction ?
ING personal accounts in the UK appear to only permit transfers to the account holder and not third parties (except in a few exceptional cases)
ING also offer business accounts in the UK which may permit third party transfers
ING operate in other countries
I have an ING Direct UK personal account and withdraw from that to my UK accounts , so I cannot see the "international banks" issue being relevant as it appears to be a UK transaction unless I am missing something
As you say the payment is from someone else , you may wish to ascertain that the information from them is correct - you mention that you have been in contact with ING and they have answered your queries
I am not aware that ING have a presence in Leicester
The sort code is in Reading http://findsortcodes.co.uk/sortcode/406198

I had assumed it was a personal account, but I could be mistaken and I did think it was a straightforward transaction, initially.
Thank you for all the ING insights...I'm certainly going to clarify all my info, before I take this any further and this has helped, thanks a lot.0 -
There is information on the ING website (assuming this thread relates to ING in the UK) about how transfers may be made , transaction limits etc
