Firstly apologies if this is self explanatory or i should know it already but I am all over the place at the moment so thought I would try and get advice all int he one place..
My husband and I are separating, we have 2 young boys (2 & 4) and currently live in a house provided by my in laws where we pay them rent. He works full time (own business) and I work part time (20 hours) (minimal income), we currently get wtc, ctc & cb. I want to take on more hours so will have to talk to my boss but until that is approved (hopefully) then my take home isnt a great deal.
My query is mainly if my husband moves out i will not be able to afford to stay given our current outgoings, would i be able to claim housing benefit if it is rented from my in laws? and is there anything else that i would be able to get assistance with in the short term until the kids go to school and i can get back into working more?
Thanks
