Hope someone can help.
I have an asus laptop and the wifi keeps turning off all the time, it will go off several times in the space of ten minutes while i am browsing the internet. It has been doing this for several months now but i have always just accepted it, i now want to put a new cd on my iphone but everytime i plug into the laptop the wifi turns off
Even just writing this i have had to turn it back on twice!
It just says in the corner intel my wifi technology radio off and i have to click it back on.
I'm useless at computers, can somebody help at all?
TIA

Do you have any other devices that use the same WiFi connection? If you do have other devices that connect to your WiFi, do those devices also get disconnected randomly or is it just an issue with your Asus Laptop?
Might be worth updating the WiFi drivers to the latest and see if that makes a difference.
I had an issue with an old laptop that had an Intel WiFi chipset, and the WiFi connection would disconnect after an hour of the laptop being idle. Upgrading the drivers fixed that issue.
If the issue is with all devices that connect to your WiFi take a look at inSSIDer: http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/ (if you manage to stay connected long enough) and see if there are any other WiFi connections in your neighbourhood that might be interfering with your connection, there might be other WAPs that are on the same channel. You should be able to change your channel to a different one on your router/WAP.0 -
How would i do that?
No its just the laptop we have another laptop and ipad and they are fine.

OWhat Operating System are you running?
What is the model of Asus Laptop?
If you access the control panel (assuming Windows XP, but Windows 7 is similar):
Click Start > Settings > Control panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Device Manager > Select the Network Adaptor it should list the driver version and date
Once we have this information we can help search for an updated driver.0
